Started going to this place about a year ago based on a newspaper review and have watched it blossom. We’ve had family parties, lunch meetings, and many great dinners. The couple who run this joint keep it hip without trying too hard. Above all, EXCELLENT food and QUALITY margaritas. Great service, but Friday nights can have a wait. Highly recommend this hidden treasure
This is a hole-in-the-wall (8 tables?) with class and classy food. The kitchen is open so you see the chefs at work. The food is delivered to your table as it comes off the grill. It is closer to authentic Mexican than Tex-Mex. My hope is that some of you (not all!) will try this place and help keep these hard-working people in business. However, if too many people try it I’ll have to start waiting in line or (god forbid!) they may raise their prices. Near Arapaho and Custer, just off of 75 Central Expressway in the Camelot shopping center.
My wife & I come here all the time. The food is always consistent and the service is top notch. It’s a small restaurant and does get busy in the evenings/peak hours. Their complementary salsa is some of the best in town and we love the fact that it’s happy hour all day/every day…$3 for a beer, margarita, sangria or a mojito….what more can you ask for? If you’re looking for a local tex/mex restaurant that services quality food at reasonable prices with great customer services, Holy Frijoles is the place for you. Once you arrive, you will be greeted by Jose (manager) and rest assured, he’ll take good care of you!
This is a great (small) neighborhood tex/mex place to go. The drinks/food are great. My family of 4 go here often and enjoy the great service and food. We go to all the other places (Cocina/Fenix/Uncle Julios) and this place is still towards the top of our weekly Dinner list… This place is not for you if your expecting 4/5 star food/service however its very kid friendly and the drinks and food are all good.
Went here for the margaritas and stayed for a great dinner. The margaritas were superb and did not taste like some other restaurants “house”/happy-hour margaritas. I ordered a Tex-Mex combo which was great, and my friend orderd a tilapia. Hers was also delish, but only get it if you love garlic. We didn’t experience any problems with the service and were very happy with the cleanliness (which would have been a dealbreaker for me;)). All in all, a quick stop for a cheap margarita turned into a long, but fantastic evening out.
Wide selection, authentic tastes, and reasonable prices. Very friendly service and the dining room was impeccably clean.
Great food! I personally liked the enchilada combination platter. Its a small place with good service, good food and good prices. I agree with Thomas, u have to try the margaritas.
Food is super good, too! What more can you ask for in a close to home restaurant that has such a comfortable, laid back atmosphere? I find myself here at least once a week now. Yes, it’s that awesome! 🙂 And just for the record….I’ve been UNDERCHARGED as many times as I’ve been charged the right amount. I’ve NEVER been overcharged, and trust me, I go here A LOT now.
The kind of neighborhood place that you like to see. Great food at a great price. Attentive service with owner overseeing the business.
